## Incentivizing node runners for Product Consensus & Clawbacks within Grant Contracts?

Good to know the grants are already contracted out in that format, but also confused how then we have all these poor performing with little to no organic liquidity, some even just bailing out of excuses without practically realizing anything in the ecosystem? Seems like the qualification or…

## [COMPLAINT] Is the Algorand Inc. aware of the heavily dysfunctional Algorand Foundation?

(before you start talking about attitude etc., do yourself a favor to patronize those that you can(!) patronize. This is surely not me. The Foundation operates in an unacceptable manner. I did not lose my cool. I just write unfiltered in the hope you realize the damage you caused/cause by your amate…

## [Temperature Check] Reward node runners through governance

Rationale:
Lately we’ve seen the online participating stake trending lower (sitting at ~1.6B ALGO right now), this is probably a side effect of general market conditions where retail/institutions start to lose interest and move away from the cryptocurrency space, on top of that there’s also a very …

I’m also in this camp. Make node setup noob friendly, than tie governance to it. If you cannot run your node, join through some protocol like Folks Finance.

On behalf of the entire Algorand Developer Community, I wanted to say thank you to [@fabrice](https://forum.algorand.co/u/fabrice). Fabrice is the real genius behind Algorand. He’s constantly making himself available to developers who run into bugs, challenges, and new problems building. It doesn’t matter how big or small the problem is,…

## Where can i get information on learning Teal

TEAL is like the assembly language. Like you don’t program on assembly on your computer, now you usually don’t program in TEAL for Algorand. If you are interested in building smart contracts, for Algorand, I recommend using [Beaker](https://developer.algorand.org/articles/hello-beaker/) or at least PyTEAL. Beaker is so much more user-friendly but is in …

## A proposal in lieu of M3 (Incentivize Nodes instead of NFTs)

Amen to that. I wrote a similar post in the thread asking for feedback. Supporting NFT creators with tools and events or workshop or whatnot is a thing that I would endorse, but creating a NFT collection is not something that the Foundation should be concerned about. Then there is the more important…

Part 1 of this post is a critique of M3 of the current proposals floating. Part 2 is a proposed alternative. Part 1 - NFT sales should be driven by the collectors who want to buy them, not through a centralized subsidy to create an artificial demand/hype. That’s not how you create stable markets;…

please read carefully as I asked of two things. The kraken paper does not show the nuances involved for algorand in their analysis; I’ve already spotted wrong claims. Fabrice only confirmed the distribution of seats to online stake (duh) like I also did before and after linking you to two documents.…

they are not valid for every blockchain. can you bring me a documentation that says this and proved this. And another that says every blockchain operates like algorand. i haven’t taken a look at your numbers to see if it’s right because it doesn’t matter when it’s painting an inaccurate picture from a fa…

this why I said they are in different configurations. how many combinations can you have them in the committees together with the rest. The pool of validators are not always the same. Aside from the fact you’re not always selected, consider that if for example 50 go offline and a different 50 join y…

One important point to consider is that while participation nodes do not require a lot of computation power, they need to be online 100% of the time and to be connected to a reliable Internet connection. In addition, there is still a need for maintenance. I’m afraid most users would not be able to…

No, actually I am trying to say just the opposite… From my experience it is better to get the VCs funding before the token launch. I have launched the vote coin token prior to VC search, and I lack there the investors' interest… There are projects on the algo ecosystem that might help find the VCs… For example…

[@averagezen](https://forum.algorand.co/u/averagezen) thanks for your feedback. You understand that DEX liquidity provision is a crucial service for a blockchain ecosystem and the purpose of measure 2 is having this activity fully involved. The final snapshot will be taken at the end of the governance period, as explained in the measure. Th…

I think once we get xGov + governance sorted a bit more, something that could be a great example of what to vote on may be to re-allocate some funds for Dev tooling. For instance, right now, 282m Algo is awarded through governance per year. At 40c a token, it’s $112,000,000 a year. One of the thing…

The Algorand Foundation seeks feedback from the community on proposed ballot measures we are considering putting forward for the upcoming Governance voting session in September. Below we describe the measures that we are preparing, their rationale and their possible technical implementation, followe…

What would make a better or the best governance system?

I think the best governance system accurately represents the opinion on propositions by holders who are knowledgeable and have the ecosystems best interests in mind that move it towards “the future of finance”, while simultaneously accounting…

[Algorand Testnet Outage](https://forum.algorand.co/u/cryptocurv/activity/likes-given#p-19644-algorand-testnet-outage-1)

On July 8th, Algorand’s Testnet was stalled from approximately 12:15 PM ET until approximately 5:15 PM ET when it resumed normal operation.

[Impact](https://forum.algorand.co/u/cryptocurv/activity/likes-given#p-19644-impact-2)

No tokens, records, etc were lost, and the protocol behaved as expected.

[Root Cause](https://forum.algorand.co/u/cryptocurv/activity/likes-given#p-19644-root-cause-3)

A bug in code populating an in-process cache…

It depends what you mean by production and the type of project. If you’re creating something like an NFT which essentially just requires you to make transactions, then [@evertdiazb](https://forum.algorand.co/u/evertdiazb) is the simplest solution.

Actually, I think it was a good design decision because anyone can make a better indexer than the official algorand indexer… For many applications you do not even need to have indexer up and running and the node and information about the processed block might be enough. Good think about the indexers …

Additionally, see [Stablecoin : How to burn the asset and update the supply - #2 by fabrice](https://forum.algorand.co/t/stablecoin-how-to-burn-the-asset-and-update-the-supply/1838/2)

You would have to define a fixed starting supply, which could be randomized. But, an indefinite supply function may look something like this.
```python
def unlimited_supply():
    starting_supply = 100
    for moment in time:
        starting_supply =+ 100
```
This would allow 100 tokens to be added indefinitely for every moment…

The documentation sometimes gets lagged behind the code. You can look [go-algorand/config.go at master · algorand/go-algorand · GitHub](https://github.com/algorand/go-algorand/blob/master/config/config.go) for the parameter description. Please let me know if you have any other questions. ( I think that the in-code documentation would answer your question from above )

When running a full catchup ( what you’re doing ), you’re validating each block against its predecessor. That’s quite a CPU and disk intensive process if you have a long-running network.

The issue was already addressed on master, and was deployed yesterday to betanet ( [BetaNet Update: 2.5.6](https://forum.algorand.co/t/betanet-update-2-5-6/3111) ). I don’t have any particular date, but would expect it to reach mainnet shortly unless some regression is found while it’s on betanet.
