Governance Period 6 Draft Measures - Community Check In

I would prefer only wrapped tokens + stablecoins to be whitelisted. That's why especially the following assets are missing imo: xSOL, goUSD, pBTC, xUSD and I would have liked volume to play a role too. Projects like vestige, defly, alammex, alandia, NFT marketplaces all won't see any of those ALGOs…

Other types of incentives, like relay node rewards, are on the horizon. @JohnWoods is working on that program and we will have news (and measures) later in the year.

This is the way! I believe that if users want to participate in governance not only should they commit to not moving their ALGO bag for the entire period, but also they should have them online and securing the network. While this is obviously challenging for some users to do on their own, AlgoFi already...

The foundation Staci has promised two improvements:

• more frequent (quarterly) transparency reports
• explicitly labeling wallets used for Algo sales

You can currently see all new Algos entered into circulation here. Ideally, this information should be provided by the foundation, not a community group.

Governance rewards have been well discussed within the community. The facts are:

• Vanilla Governance rewards are misaligned with ecosystem growth goals and actually hold back ecosystem growth.
• Governance DeFi rewards were a big success. Under the worst of bear market conditions, Algorand DeFi liquidity...

Full transparency and clarity are required regarding the reduction in Governance rewards. We need to keep everyone on the same page. The Algorand Foundation needs to respond to this before this escalates throughout the community.

Most of these measures are exactly what the community has been asking for, if not in specifics in intent. Maybe you think these are coming out of nowhere, but they very much aren’t. The Foundation proposed the xGov system. xGov is being implemented. Governance is changing and your opinions are not forgotten!
