# Why I Love Algorand

I’d just like to interject for a moment, what you’re referring to as a smart contract is in fact a piece of off-chain code or as I’ve recently taking to calling it, not a smart contract.  Off chain scripts are not smart contracts, but rather another tool that can be used to interact with the blockchain.
