Vrf select node question

Hello, I’m a student studying blockchain in Korea. I presented today about Algorand. “What if the node is turned off? What happens if that node is selected through VRF?” I was asked about Algorand nodes. I answered that if the node is turned off, it is not selected from the VRF function, is this correct? Please give me a technical answer.
